The Vice President spoke with President Enrique Peña Nieto of Mexico today to underscore the importance of the bilateral relationship to the prosperity and security of both countries.  The two leaders discussed the positive bilateral cooperation at Mexico’s southern border and the importance of treating migrants from Central America with dignity and respect.  The Vice President praised Mexico for its support for the advancement  of the Northern Triangle of Central America.  In addition, the two leaders discussed new opportunities to promote exchanges between their immigration and border protection agencies.  The Vice President and President Peña Nieto reaffirmed their efforts to build a hemisphere that is prosperous, democratic, and secure.
